Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all that my music is out now

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to always follow him. Ask God to guide us more towards him each day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

My music is out now

The Lord is good.

Above all else the Lord is good.

What happens is that I was recently working on this song for a while now.

And finally, I was able to mix it and to finish it.

I think it sounds really good as a matter of fact.

It’s called Jesus I love you.

It’s out on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music right now!

Remember that the Lord is the one who blessed me with the skills needed to produce, mix, write, and sing all of the parts on this song. So praises be to the Lord for providing a way for me.

I hope you all like my music.

The Good Lord Strikes again!

**To my friend who I hurt, rock on superstar

So, about 6 months ago my friend stopped talking to me. At the time I didn’t know why he stopped, he just stopped. Let me tell you why, I offended him! Could you believe that? This is my good friend here! The one that I used to hang out with all the time and write songs with. My music friend who just knows so much! He told me just yesterday that I had offended him! I could not believe what I was hearing. However, when he explained to me what I had said and how I said it, it made sense as to why that would offend someone. However, the good Lord moved my friend into missing me and he missed me enough to call me again and start hanging out with me again. I thank God for this friend, he is such a blessing in my life and I could not believe that I had just offended him. I feel like there are some other aspects as to why I offended him and I wish that he would tell me, but who knows maybe he will one day. Anyways let me tell you what I said, what I meant, and how God was involved the whole time.

Critique

So, my friend and I were jamming out one day and I kept feeling as if though he was looking for critique on his musicality. He did not ask for it, however, the questions felt like they were leading me to say something like that. So I told him a few things, however, I didn’t pay attentions as to what I was saying and how I was saying it. I had an attitude those days and I showed it off to my friend, but I didn’t know that it was really bad. Apparently the way that I was saying things felt like I was a bully.

What I wanted to say

I think my friend’s music is pure fire. I would not say that if it wasn’t true. It’s so professional the music side of things, however, there are some things that he needs to work on. Solid work though, good work.

That’s what I wanted to tell him. Apparently I had hurt him so much, that he went into a depression and he quit music for a while! I am so thankful to God that it did not lead to anything bad. God himself was with my friend throughout the times that I had hurt him.

Moving on

I have been learning the same lesson for all of my life, be careful what you say and how you say it. But it feels like I’m just never done learning it. I can’t promise my friend that I’ll be perfect and not hurt him for the rest of my life, but I hope that my friend will have the confidence and patience that it takes to be my friend. I don’t ever look to hurt him or anyone, and if I do, it’s an accident. I hope that we can get through this and be even stronger bros in the end.

How God was involved

God comforted my friend even though I had hurt him. God comforted my friend enough to get him to call me back again. God helped him out of his depression, God didn’t let my friend spiral out of control. God was always there for him and was guiding him more towards his destiny. I could not thank God enough.             Anyways that’s it for this blog post. I hope that I have been an encouragement and inspiration to you guys. Please pray, read your bible, go to church, and love God above all else. Like, share, comment, and subscribe and I will see you all next time. German Gonzalez, signing out!

How to make guitar solos

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to make guitar solos.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Ask God to help us to understand him all the more each day that passes. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

How to make guitar solos

So there are some key concepts that you should understand first when making a guitar solo.

The first thing that you should understand is that you have to be within the key of the song in order to make a guitar solo.

Now I understand that you say to yourself that you’ve seen guitarists who make guitar solos with notes all over the fret board.

And I agree I’ve seen the same thing.

In this article we will go over some of those techniques.

But before that let’s highlight some other key concepts in the guitar solo.

First concept stay within the key

I know you’re eager to go out there and show off how technical of a player you are at the guitar,

But most often than not, it’s not necessary to go chromatic on a song that’s trying to be a pop hit.

Pop hits are often simple and easy going songs that don’t need a lot of crazy all over the place solos.

So staying within key is a good concept to keep.

Second concept stay within rhythm

Photo by Nothing Ahead on Pexels.com

You need to keep a good rhythm in your guitar solos.

Guitar is a rhythm instrument, so keeping a diverse and dynamic sense of rhythm in a guitar solo is absolutely essential to making your guitar solos shine.

If you really think about it, you only have around 8 or 9 notes within a given key that you can mess around with to make a solo.

And with those little selection of notes within the solo, you need to make it sound very interesting without a wide variety of note selections.

This is where rhythm comes in.

The selection of when and where to play the notes is just as important if not more important than the actual note selection itself.

Because what happens is that you can actually make a good guitar solo with just 5 notes and it’s actually done all the time using the pentatonic scale.

The only thing is that your rhythm needs to be on point to make it sound interesting.

Third concept, keep the beat

Photo by Matthew Baur on Pexels.com

This goes hand in hand with stay within rhythm.

But it’s a little different.

I remember when I first started my guitar solos, I had a good sense of rhythm and a good sense of note selections, but I just couldn’t keep beat.

It’s a different dynamic making up a guitar solo and keeping beat to it.

It’s a whole new challenge to it.

I remember when I first started, when I was keeping beat, I was with very basic rhythm, almost always on the beat playing type.

I couldn’t do 8th note or 16th note runs.

I couldn’t do triplets and believe it or not, I had to re-teach myself how to hold notes for half notes and whole notes.

It was a different challenge.

Don’t get me wrong, I could do those things when the song was already written out, but when making the guitar solo was different.

Pick the right gear

It’s no wonder that the electric guitar is the most sought after when making guitar solos.

But acoustic guitars can be used for guitar solos as well.

It’s just that you should know your limits.

Acoustic guitars can in theory play everything that an electric guitar can play, but most often than not, it’s not possible.

The acoustic guitar has a thicker neck which makes it more diffficult to wrap your hands around the neck of the guitar.

Electric guitars are louder therefore it makes making hammer-ons and pull offs a lot easier.

Tapping and certain shred guitar techniques are also almost exclusively done on electric guitars.

Pray all the more each day

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all why you should pray all the more each day.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Ask God to bless our hands in the work that we do and to help us to honor him. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Pray all the more each day.

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all why you should pray all the more each day.

So if I’m honest here, I will say that every time I prayed to God to bless my hands in an honest job, the Lord has blessed my hands.

And what do I mean by that?

I mean it’s no doubt whatsoever that every man and woman at one point in life probably tried to get rich quick.

And I am no different.

I have in the past tried to get rich quick.

And the Bible speaks evil against getting rich quick.

It says that we have an evil eye if we want to get rich.

And the Bible is clear that we are to be patient with our riches.

But I digress.

I’m not here trying to talk to you about money, I’m actually here trying to say that we are supposed to pray to God to bless our hands in our work.

For we can have a lot of money and not be blessed.

I remember I one time saw that somewhere.

This is the reason why I say to pray to God so much.

I’m here to tell you all that prayer works.

Remember prayer works.

IF you pray to God to bless your hands in an honest job, he will bless it.

And pray every day.

Pray hard about your job and never forget that it is God who provides.

So I beg of you, please pray, pray, and don’t stop praying.

My preacher once said that the praying man is a strong man.

And I agree one hundred percent.

The praying man is the strong man.

So pray hard and all night long, and you will see your life transform.

The Bible has the wisdom we need

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some wisdom that I’ve just recently learned.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Ask God to give us wisdom and strength to get through our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

The Bible has all the wisdom you need

So what happened was that I was thinking about all of the things that I encounter on a day to day basis.

Well let me tell you recently what I’ve been doing.

I’ve been trying to prepare for an emergency.

Just an emergency where I need to get out of the house and go somewhere.

And what happened was that I came across the topic of doomsday prepping.

I know this sounds crazy and silly, but yes I came across the concept of doomsday prepping.

And I was fascinated with it for a little bit but then I started asking myself, “How does God see this?”

”Does God think that doing this is okay?”

I mean I obviously already knew that God didn’t want our emergency preparedness to consume our lives like how it did to some of the people that I was watching.

But I mean a little preparedness I don’t think would’ve hurt and actually would’ve been good for me.

So I started reading in the Bible as to what does God think about all of this.

And honestly, I couldn’t find much.

There was one verse that said that it would be okay to prepare for an emergency, but I can’t remember the verse and I wanted to study it a little more just to be sure that it’s saying what it says.

But then I came across what Jesus said and it said in Matthew 6:34 it states, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow for the morrow shall take thoughts for the things itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

and honestly I read the entire chapter of Matthew 6 and it is talking about the future that we know about.

Take no thought for it is what it says for tomorrow will take thought for itself.

This was very interesting to me because in a world where people say to always be prepared, the Lord says to take no thought for tomorrow.

and that was Jesus who was speaking those words.

So it shows you that the Bible has the answers to our questions.

And it’s not just that, I’ve asked God to reveal to me answers that I long have had questions to.

and every time I read the Bible, I find the answer.

IT’s amazing.

So I encourage you all, to read your bible, for you will find answers.

The Lord is so good

The Lord has placed big dreams in my heart

You know it’s funny, when I was a kid, I had my heart set on becoming an engineer, then in high school, it was set on becoming a musician.

Now I have a different perspective on life.

Now I have a dream of graduating with my bachelors degree in English.

The reason why is because I was examining my own writing, and I realized that I write really well.

It even shows in my grades in college. My college classes, the professors have given me good grades and said that I’m doing good. And yes I really do love the fact that I’m doing really well.

But now it’s time to really put it in gear and earn my degrees. The Lord will provide a way.

And right now, I think I’m in a position to actually earn my degree. The Lord willing, I will graduate. But I shall pray about my degrees the whole way, this needs prayers and lots of it.

So now, I have this dream of graduating college with my degrees and earning my degrees in college. I know I can do it, if God helps me to get through it. All in the Lords time.

God willingly, this blog will help me to earn my degrees.

The Mainstream Sellout

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to talk a little bit about music.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to use all of our talents for his glorification. Help us to give everything to him. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

The mainstream sellout

I was actually looking at the album cover for Machine Gun Kelly’s album Mainstream Sellout.

And I thought, In a way, every hit artist was a mainstream sellout.

The reason is because when you’re on a label, you write and perform what your label wants to hear.

It’s not exactly what you want to make.

I remember when I was reading an interview with Eminem, he actually used to make songs that were clean because he wanted it on the radio.

But when the record labels didn’t like him for who he was, he changed it up and started “selling out” to get what the record label wanted him to write about, in a way.

So what does all of this have to do with the Christian musician?

How this affects the Christian musician

As a Christian musician, we will be faced with selling out at one point in our lives or another.

And it is at this point that we must really draw a sort of line as to what we will accept our music to be and what it shouldn’t be.

And you know, for the most part selling out actually has a negative connotation to it.

And I understand with this.

Because selling out means that you are giving up your passion for money.

You have abandoned your vision for the sake of getting paid.

And even though I understand that decision as well, this isn’t about getting paid.

This is about glorifying the Lord.

The money will come one day.

It may not happen as fast as how you want it to happen, but it will happen one day.

So don’t be in a rush and sellout when you still have options, you never know how close you were to finishing the race.

8 Stereotypes in Indie music

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to give you guys a kind of funny piece of content because I felt funny today.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

10 stereotypes in indie music

I wanted to share this blog post because I felt like we needed a break from our usual dense talk about serious topics.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I completely feel strong about the content that I put up on this blog. I feel like God should be worshiped and adored with utmost certainty and conviction.

But I wanted to give you guys a little bit of my personality today and show you guys that though I talk serious at times, I’m also 28 years old and hot.

So without further ado, here are some stereotypes in indie music.

  1. The beginner If you’re a beginner indie musician, hooray for you. You have just realized that music is your passion and you need to pursue it because you are that good at music. It’s not just cause it’s the ONLY thing you’re good at and the idea of starting a regular job is just too hard. But it’s because you have this big gift for music that would honestly be just a waste of time and energy if you did anything else. You have more google searches about how to start a music career than the average bear. You think that if you could just revolutionize the standard I-V-vi-IV chord progression than you would be golden and make a million dollars. You have a ways to go but you’re hungry and talented and that’s all that really matters.
  2. The rapper If making beats for countless hours and deciding on the perfect rhythm to rap to along with those beats sounds like a dream come true, well you’re in the right place. Rap is so rhythmically diverse. I one time saw on the internet a man who raps talk about complex time signatures and polyrhythms and how to incorporate them into your raps. It was actually very interesting. However if you really want to impress the crowd, you’ll soon find out that the regular flow of 16th note runs played at a slow tempo is more than enough to get the crowd pumping and jumping. You probably live in a big city, in which case you’re in luck because from what I hear the rap scenes are really big in big cities.
  3. The guitar player Guitar is all you know, Literally, I’m pretty sure that you know the nicknames to your guitars better than the birthdays to your best friends. You have talent, but just in guitar. You get all of the jokes about guitars that are said on the internet and you’re probably the no life geek version of guitar players (I’m one of these people) You can sing a little, but let’s be real, playing like Slash is more important than making hits.
  4. The singer You are the spotlight in the crowd. You have to take up all of the attention or else your superpowers fade away. You know how to do the most valuable thing in music that will make you the most money, but you don’t know anything about music theory and keeping beat is a nightmare to you. If you knew music theory, there would be no one who could stop you from taking over the music world. But alas, you can’t which brings me to the next stereotype
  5. The bedroom producer You have FL Studio. Studio One, Logic. And Abelton LIve. You know how to use one of those really well and the other ones you use for hobby. You may or may not have an impressive archive of recreated productions from professional recording studios. You have a mini MIDI and maybe some mixing speakers. You probably sell yourself short and undercharge for all of the hard work that you do. But let’s be honest, you didn’t go to school to produce music or mix it, and you have a lot of sloppy chops. It’s really only good for making your own music. You probably only have a few hundred followers on your social channels. But let’s be real again, you are a strong musician, and you know you got this.
  6. The session musician You are a hired gun. You get the job done when it needs to be done. You have a fiverr account ready to make some money but you have no customers, if only you knew that you just had to make content and you would have customers. But I digress. I’m not going to lie, I sometimes wish I could’ve made it as a session musician in my area because I’ve seen what those guys make and they make bread. I remember one of them charged 150 dollars on the low end for recording for 2 hours. That’s money.
  7. The influencer You have a blog, twitter, Facebook Page, Lemonade page, and Instagram page all at once. And you use it all for music posts to try and build your following so you can get signed by a major label. You know music really well but you’re trying to focus on building your following because you think that building a following is more important than making great music. And even though the following will help to land a major label deal, you’re still missing the important aspect of the music industry and that’s the music. It is after all the MUSIC industry.
  8. The Professional indie musician You are a rare breed. You get not only the guitar jokes that are said on the internet, but almost EVERY music joke on the internet. You understand music theory to the point where people are asking you to get on the radio. You practice your instruments day in and out, You know how to play guitar, piano, sing, rap, and create songs. Everytime you perform, you are always last (Save the best for last) Every time you perform, you get a standing ovation. Your gear is not the best because you are not that rich, but it’s definitely not the worst either. Your gear sounds amazing though it was only purchased at Music and Arts and the reason why it sounds so amazing is because you are that good at music. You have a decent social media following and honestly the only thing that’s holding you back from making a lot of money from music is time. You just need to clock in more hours into your career and boom you will be golden. You draw influences from all types of music because you understand that rock and pop also needs hip-hop and R&B. You are what some musicians only dream of doing and you’re doing it.

Bible study: How to receive blessings

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to get blessings.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Ask God to help us to honor him with all the work that we do. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

How to get blessings

So the Bible actually has methods for obtaining blessings and favor from the Lord.

Let’s read a few bible verses as to how to obtain favor from the Lord and how to receive his blessings.

Proverbs 3:3-4 states, “Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”

What those verses are saying is to put mercy and truth within your heart.

And if you do that, you will find favor in the sight of God and man.

That means that both God and man will favor you amongst other people.

So that’s one verse that explains that we are to put truth and mercy within ourselves to find favor from God.

Let’s continue

Proverbs 3: 9 – 10 states, “Honour the Lord with thy substance, And with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”

That means to honor God with everything you have: Clothes, strength, height, talents, money, resources, etc. etc. and if you do that, the Lord will be the one to bless you.

Proverbs 19: 17 states, “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; And that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

Do not be afraid to give to the poor, because God will repay you.

But there is one last verse that I think is very helpful when receiving blessings.

Proverbs 18:12 states, “Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.”

So before you are honorable, you need to have gone through a humility phase in your life.

And that word humility, it actually means lowliness, it means humble, it means meekness and small.

Before you are honorable, you need to have been small first.

And that’s really what God is saying in these verses.

How to keep pushing as a Christian music blogger?

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how you should keep pushing as a Christian music blogger.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

How to keep pushing as a Christian music blogger?

Ahh yes, you want to start a Christian music blog. And you are really set for working really hard at it, but you’re wondering something to yourself.

”Do I have the drive to make it as a Christian music blogger?”

”Do I have the work ethic to make it as a Christian music blogger?”

”Do I have the patience to actually become a Christian music blogger?”

These are all excellent questions that honestly needs careful consideration before you embark on a journey to become a successful Christian blogger.

And ultimately, all of these questions boil down to one thing, strength.

Do you have the strength to wake up day and in and out and write in a blog when you’re tired, when you’re sore, when you’ve had a bad day and you really need to just put up another blog post.

And of course when I say strength, I don’t mean the ability to bench press 315.

When I say strength, I mean do you have the internal strength to actually motivate yourself and go out and do the work.

Because if I’m honest, the work itself is not like going into the coal mines and working for 80 hours a week.

You’re at your laptop and you are typing away.

But it still needs internal strength.

It needs strength to wake up and do the work that you need to do.

To research topics and come up with new ideas and do things in the beginning that really aren’t all that fun to do.

So where do you get all of this strength?

Let’s talk about it.

Jesus is our strength

Philippians 4:13 states, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This literally means that we need God in order to do anything.

For God is our strength.

And through the Bible we know that we alone are weak.

But with God we are strong.

So what this means is that we need to pray to Jesus to give us strength to do these works.

We need to pray to Jesus to give us strength.

Because if you really want to think about it.

Where will our strength come from?

Is it going to come from ourselves? We already know that we are without power without God.

Therefore, we need God in order to give us power to create something good.

And ultimately, if you pray to God for those things, he will give it to you.

How to go from “alright” musician to “Top class” musician?

How to become excellent at music?

So really there is no big secret about becoming excellent as a musician.

There really is one big thing that separates the alright guys from the excellent world class guys.

And that is practice.

The more you practice, the more you are going to improve on your craft.

I know you were probably expecting me to say something like, “Oh you need to worry about your plug ins as a producer or Ohh you need to have professional gear as a guitarist.

But no, it really just boils down to how much practice you put into writing songs, playing the guitar, or producing music.

Not necessarily those things but you get the idea.

Obviously if you’re a pianist, you would have to spend a majority of your time playing the piano instead of the guitar.

But I digress.

But sometimes the fact that we need to practice more isn’t the problem, the problem is finding the time to do so.

Let’s talk about this.

Finding the time to do so.

So music is a lot like other things in life whereas you have to make sacrifices in order to do the things that you want in music.

So if you want to play the guitar at an excellent level, you have to be willing to sacrifice a little bit of you in order to make it that way.

So something you could sacrifice is not going out with those friends on that Saturday night like you said you would.

Or maybe waking up early to get 30 minutes of practice each day.

Music is a good thing, so let’s not forget that good things often come with sacrifices.

Of course don’t like go out of your way and do extreme things either to become a great musician.

But always work hard and work smart and you will never go wrong.

3 songwriting tips for the independent musician

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to give you guys some songwriting tips for the independent musician.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to strengthen our hands to work hard at the things in our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Independent songwriting tips

So songwriting is songwriting no matter where you are at.

Whether you’re an indie artist or on a major label roster, you need to write songs that are hits.

With that being said, often times as indie musicians, we don’t have the same type of resources and (let’s face it) money that a lot of major label artists of our same caliber would have.

But that doesn’t mean that we should stop producing hits or trying to produce hits.

As an indie musician, that means that we are to become more resourceful in the ways that we produce and write our songs.

So let’s talk about how we can do that.

Get better at songwriting

So music can be broken down into 3 distinct phases.

The songwriting phase, the production phase, and the post production phase.

But ultimately it starts with the song.

So as songwriters, it’s essential that we write the best possible songs that we can write.

And you become better at songwriting by learning the fundamentals of a song.

Learning the different parts of a song and what they do in different aspects will go a long way when it comes to writing songs.

Learn the verse, chorus, bridge, intro, and outdo at least to start off with in songwriting. And learn how to form each one.

In everything in music, it’s important to ask the very small and almost idiotic questions in music.

Because those small questions will accumulate to big results.

Get better at production.

Producing music comes down to really recreating a whole bunch of productions that have already been produced.

If you can recreate chart topping singles with ease, then you’re a professional producer.

Of course it helps to understand your DAW and the different parts that make up producing music. General mixing knowledge is super important. For even though you will be producing music, you will have to mix at one point or another.

Last but certainly not least, pray to God.

Ultimately I could give you a million different ways to improve in songwriting, but none of it would matter if you don’t have the time to dedicate to practicing your craft.

And on top of that, there are a million things that can stop you from actually making a career in music, a million things can stop you from even starting music.

But if you pray to God to give you time to make something out of music, the Lord promises to provide.
